Ryne Ashley appreciates the customs of the South. Those traditions of hard work and quality products that are handed down from generation to generation. That’s actually what led to the establishment of Ashley Mercantile. While the family was out of town for a special family celebration, they stumbled across some enamelware, specifically a white enamel brownie pan with a red rim, that reminded Ryne’s grandmother of one her grandmother once had. Sadly, the enamelware never made its way through the family tree. That fact stuck with Ryne, and he went home knowing that he could start a store that offered these heirloom-quality, often locally-made products at fair prices that families could enjoy for (hopefully) generations. That’s exactly what he did in 2018 with the establishment of Ashley Mercantile, a general store that offers a little bit of everything with a whole lot of love and care.
